Winter Waltz 2010
From GRA
This is a test of your joy of dancing. We will be hosting a waltz dance at the NIST cafeteria on Friday, February 19th, 3.30 pm to 7 pm. Invited is anybody who is allowed to be on the NIST campus during that timeframe. Bring your colleagues, advisors, bosses and swing them around!
The event is free of charge, although donations are encouraged. No sign up is necessary, if you feel somewhat confident about waltzing, just drop by at any time. And if you don't, do drop by nonetheless -- there will be experienced dancers at the waltz, too, which whom beginners and pros can dance alike.
We will have live music playing - the band Firefly, Linda Rowan on Violin, Mandolin and Guitar, Beverly Russel on the hammered dulcimer, Diane Sorenson on the digital piano and Jane Ziki on the Violin will be giving us the tunes to happily swing on a cold winter day.
Furthermore we will have a basic waltz lesson (at 3pm) and an advanced lesson (at 5pm), next to all the music.
There will be no food/drinks served (although a water fountain is available), so best bring what you need for yourself on your own.
If you feel especially adventurous, wear evening attire!
For further information, please contact martin.weber@nist.gov ; for advertising the event, use either the poster or the flyer (4up version). Thanks!
