Tournament Rules
- Tournament rules are determined by the GRA board and can be changed by the GRA till the start of the tournament.
- The teams are composed of 7 Players, 6 on the field at one time, one for substitution. Teams can substitute at any time. However we may authorize up to 2 substitutes in order to accomodate the players who have no team to play with.
- The “goalie” cannot use his hands or arms to stop the ball. The goalie is allowed to block the ball with his hands of arms for self protection, but if the ball is stopped by hands or arms when it would have gone into the goal without the use of hands or arms, it shall be judged and counted as a goal by the referee.
- There are no penalty shots.
- There is no offside rule.
- If there is a handball and the player did it intentionally or gains advantage it will be called an indirect free kick for the other team. If it was unintentional and no advantage is gained, handball will not be called.
- For goal kicks, corner kicks, restarting the game after an injury timeout, restarting the game after a handball etc., the ball will be placed on the ground, the initiating player will be given a 10 meter buffer, and the initiating player will pass the ball to restart play. There are no direct free kicks.
- The qualifying games will last 15 minutes. There will be a 5 minutes rest between each game.
- The qualifying games are composed of five matches where each team competes against the other teams once.
- Following the qualifying games, the four best teams will be selected for the semi-finals.
- The selected teams will be the ones with the two highest points resulting from the qualifying games.
- Following the semi-finals, the winning two teams will be selected for the final.
- Any of this qualification rules can be modified the day of the event to accomodate the number of teams that we get on the event's day.
The points calculation will be as follows: o For each qualifying game: 3 points are given to the winner o 1 point is given to each team for a tie o 0 point is given to the defeated team
- Goal average will be used to select the qualified teams in case of a tie after the points calculation. The final game will last 20 minutes. In case of a tie at the end of the 20 minutes, the golden goal rule will be used.
- Please bring a white T-Shirt and a dark T-Shirt with you on the day of the event !
The ranking of each team in each group will be determined as follows:
a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches; b) goal difference in all group matches; c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches. If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows: d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned; e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned; f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned; g) drawing of lots by the Organizing Committee.
Game rules
The spirit of the tournament is to be friendly and fun, not overly physical or aggressive. As such, slide tackling, pushing, body checks, and “bumps off the ball” will be considered fouls. Fouls will result in either a 1 minute or 2 minute penalty (at the discretion of the referee) for the player committing the foul and the team must play with one fewer player for the length of the penalty. A rough game, as determined by the referee, may result in the disqualification of the team.
- Any body check or slide tackle will result in sending out the player for two minutes.
- offside: one defender in front required (goalie).
