How to get there
- By plane
5 hours direct flight from DC or Baltimore.
- By car
If you are visiting California, San Diego is located 121 miles South from Los Angeles and just 10 miles from the Mexican boundary.
What to see
- Cabrillo National Park
Visit the park from where you have a nice view of San Diego downtown and Coronado island. From late december to march you can even see Gray Whales. http://www.nps.gov/cabr/
- Old San Diego
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park recreates life in the Mexican and early American periods of 1821 to 1872. You can even visit authentic abode houses. The park is free, don't miss it. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=663
- Coronado island
From San Diego downtown a bridge brings you to Coronado Island. This island is famous for the Hotel del Coronado (http://www.hoteldel.com/) we can see in the movie some like it hot with Marylin Monroe. There is also a beautiful beach along the island.

You can eat fresh and delicious mexican food in the heart of the Old San Diego. There are a lot of restaurants, have a look at the plates inside and make your choice.
