How to get there

There are flight connections from all airports in the DC region (IAD, DCA, BWI) to Miami International (the closest airport for Miami and Miami Beach) or Fort Lauderdale. It takes about 2,5 hours.

What to see

  • Miami Downtown: The Metro Mover of Miami is for free. It's an elevated railway that goes in two different loops through the city.
  • Miami Bayside: A lot of bars and restaurants are located at the Miami Bayside. From here you have a nice view over the harbor and can enjoy a good dinner or some cocktails. Also the "Miami Heat" stadium is located there.
  • Miami Beach / South Beach: South Beach is one of the best beaches in Florida where it is possible to bath through the whole year. There are a lot of bars and clubs on the Ocean Drive and Washington Avenue. If you are looking for good restaurants, go to Lincoln Rd.
  • Florida Keys: To explore the Keys you have to rent a car. But you should start early if you want to reach Key West. It's about 160miles away from Miami.
