The prices I mention there were correct in 2006, for a roundtrip in the middle of January, during the high season. I chose the cheapest flights, so the departure date was Thursday, and the return date Tuesday, which are cheaper than more busy days. I looked at the prices and booked 3 months before the flights.
- Always start comparing flights on a comparison site, like Orbitz, Travelocity or Expedia.
- You can find direct flights between Washington, DC / Reagan National (DCA) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ) for as low as $344.41 roundtrip, with Spirit.
- United Airlines now also has direct flights between Washington, DC / Dulles (IAD) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ). This is the one I chose, and I paid $351.
- American Airlines can also have good prices, but the flights are not direct (there is a stop in Miami), between Washington, DC / Dulles (IAD) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ). It was $409.71 roundtrip.
- Delta Airlines still had good prices 2 days before the departure in the middle of January, $336 for a roundtrip, between Washington, DC / Dulles (IAD) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ), but with a stop in Atlanta.
- Also check Air Jamaica. There are direct flights between Baltimore (BWI) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ), sometimes for as low as $354.96.
- I've met an English guy in Jamaica who had found a direct flight between London and Montego Bay for £300 roundtrip, during the high season.
