English Resources Near NIST
There are multiple resources that can help improve your ability to speak, read, and write in English. All of the resources listed below are free of charge and cost nothing.

English Learner’s Conversation Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Auralog’s Tell Me More: This is a free online language tutorial that is accessed through the library’s web site.
Pimsleur’s Language Learning e-books: These electronic books are available for download from the library website.
Language Lab: There are 25 computers available specifically for practicing language learning, including practical conversation, reading, and pronunciation.
Additional books and CDs for English learners are also available for checkout, usually for 3 weeks at a time. All of these resources require a library card. The library card is free, but you must bring a copy of a postmarked letter to you at your Montgomery County address Need an interpreter? Call this number, and you will be able to talk with a reference librarian with the help of an interpreter: 240-777-0001.

- Montgomery College
Montgomery College offers a variety of courses for English language learners at all levels and with a variety of specializations. A two-hour assessment test must be taken along with in-person registration.
