Fitness center
I would recommend to avoid signing any contracts. I personally had an uncomfortable experience with a fitness center. If you sign a contract you may find yourself in a difficult position if you need to terminate the contract. You can visit these web sites (www.consumer.com or www.consumeraffairs.com) to see what people think about the fitness center you want to subscribe with. I would recommend the NIST fitness facility or any fitness center with short term contracts."
Credit history
In general, credit history means that you can pay your installments in a timely manner. This could be used upon your request to get a loan, rent a house, issue credit cards. You could go to COMSTAR and ask a representative to explain to you why it is helpful for you to have a good credit history.
Identity theft
Understand what it is and what you can do to prevent it. You may be entitled to a free credit report per year.
Used cars
If you decide to buy a used car pay extra attention to the transmission system and the engine. These could cost ~$1500 and ~$3000 respectively if they go bad. If you purchase such a car make sure you get a warrantee for these parts; you can usually get a warrantee from a car dealer. Also you can ask at the COMSTAR Federal Credit Union for a price quote on the car you are about to purchase.
