Installation & Setup
The installation was a snap. I picked up the cable modem (Motorola Surfboard) and the cabling kit at the Circuit City close to the NIST main gate. All you need to do is hook it up to your cable connection and call a toll-free number. They activated the line during the phone conversation.
The modem connects to your computer using ethernet or USB. You can also connect a router if you want to share the connection with multiple PCs.
Reliability
We had a lot of outages with the service. The link goes down regularly. So don't use it if it's mission critical. On the other hand, performance is excellent - when the link is up. Technical support seemed very competent but could not do much about the outages.
Summary
Comcast Internet is a pretty good deal. It's fast and the connectivity is pretty good. You should not expect the service to be up all the time. But if you can live with that, I would recommend it.
